Ramadan, the holiest month in the Islamic calendar wherein Allah(SWT) sent the first verses of the Holy Quran to our Prophet Muhammad. It is the time for renewing faith and purifying heart and soul for the millions who share in the Muslim faith around the world. Ramadan also evangelizes to better practice self-discipline, self-control, sacrifice and empathy for those who are less fortunate; thus encouraging actions of generosity and charity. The world is going through severe obstacles at different places. We are not so susceptible to help our own natives every time we want. The most prevailing aid is to pray to the Almighty for whom nothing is impossible to enact. Ramadan is a path to keep the mind and body focused on virtuous deeds and attaining self-discipline. It teaches us to behave politely and realize the pain that the underprivileged people go through. It is also the month of forgiveness, togetherness and charity.

On the auspicious occasion of Ramadan, which is a test to demonstrate submission to Allah and seek forgiveness for our faults like every year North South University organized Annual Doa Mahfil with the association of North South University Social Services Club. The main aim of the event is to seek forgiveness to the Almighty and pray together for the betterment of mankind.

Annual Doa Mahfil 2018 was held on the 7th of June to observe the holy spirit of Ramadan. We were assembled together to seek our Almighty’s mercy and blessings on our lives, friends, family and humankind. Maybe we cannot help the less fortunate ones every single day, but we can beseech for their better luck with to Allah (SWT). The prayer ceremony was hosted for the welfare of the students, faculty members, staffs and the country so that we can lead a healthy and prosperous life by the grace of the Almighty. The event was conducted by Islamic Scholar who spoke  in order to enlighten us with the  knowledge and the meaning of this Holy month and followed by a hearty Iftar. The students and faculties will pray together at the Plaza Area of North South University so that Almighty may forgive our sins, accept our Ibadat and bless us by His mercy. We appreciate everyone’s kind participation to arrange the Doa Mahfil in a well-organized way.
